Well over ten years ago one of the most talented groups in gaming created what is now known as a masterpiece. Team Andromeda's work on 'Panzer Dragoon Saga' is still talked about today. Whether online in gaming blogs, gaming conventions, game stores, or auction houses it still gets a ton of recognition and respect.
Anyone who was fortunate enough to actually have purchased this game over the counter at the time had no idea about the investment they had just made. I myself remember visiting a nearby Toys R Us store and remember glancing at the newly released Sega Saturn title. Yeah, they had many copies. True story. I was never an advocate for this forgotten Sega console, but this game caused me to wonder, why on earth would Sega produce an rpg based on a rail shooter that only Sega fan boys had raved about.
If I would have realized back in 1998 the world, vision and story contained within those 4 pds disks, I would have definitely not passed on the chance to have it over what I did buy, PlayStation games - Riven and 'The Hive'. Trust me I remember the games.
Saturn owners that have not had the chance to play this jem, well time is not on your side. Acquiring a copy is difficult and only getting harder. Even eBay copies have been handled by several or more owners. And it seems this game will never be released on any other platform again.
Purchasing this game no matter what the cost is within anyone's reach. Why? Whether you purchase it for $100.00 or $300.00 there is no way possible you can lose that money. The game has never lost it's value and quite frankly I think I can be bold enough to say it never will.
Buy it. Play it. Love it. And then sell it back. I did. I broke even, and still somehow feel I got over. Over on those out there that have never experienced this masterpiece.
Panzer Dragoon Saga.....I will never forget this game.
Sega Saturn? Who would have thunk it possible.
